Because he trace bitmapped it and kept it with pixel perfect curves, thus making a cube for every pixel.
That explosion noise sucked, and even though I loved the game and KOF, this just was awful.
Try again, just not like this, you can only appeal the to so called 'hardcore gamers' here if you put some effort into it.
Why is this in Flash?
I don't understand why this author decided to use Flash as his medium for animating this short, when in reality, this could have been done in mov or avi and posted in NG's movies section.
It is a good use of 3D, but converting it in Swift 3D would have made it loose some of its charm.
Its an excelent attempt, but I believe you may have chosen the wrong medium for presenting your art.
